Today we planned to travel from Denver, through Chicago, and be flying over
the Atlantic Ocean during the night. Not much of an itinerary for
pictures. But, as you can see, this was a very exciting day. The
flight left Denver on time, but we encountered a plane with mechanical problems
in Chicago, where we sat in the United Red Carpet Club for a 5-hour delay.

This is the flight monitor in the United Red Carpet Club at
Chicago. One way to measure the time we were delayed in Chicago is
to watch the expected departure time change from 2:30 to 3:30 to 4:30 to
5:30 to 6:30 to the currently displayed time (7:15). |

This is a very patient Linda in the United Red Carpet Club
at Chicago. Another way to measure the time we were delayed in
Chicago is to see Linda enjoying her new laptop computer (with DVD player)
while she watches the entire movie "Ben Hur." |
