At the Piazza di
Spagna . . . these are the Spanish Steps, built in 1726, combining straight sections,
curves, and terraces. As the book says, it is a popular place to "sit, write
postcards, take photos, flirt, perform or just watch the passers-by." |

We visited a
McDonald's and took some refreshment to cool us from the heat. They say it's a
record high in May for the century! The McDonald's actually has some special salad
& noodle dinners here . . . quite good. |

Well, here's
something that has me stumped. It appears to be an Egyptian obelisk, considering the
writing and condition. However, someone has "topped" it with a
cross. I'll try to get more information. |

We went to a fancy
Italian restaurant tonight. The waiter gave each of the ladies a rose, and a kiss on
the cheek. Here's Sara, a little embarrassed, but enjoying the attention. |
