Yesterday and today
we have been staying in a chalet HP has available to employees. It is located in Les
Diablerets, which is a ski resort (during the winter). This is a very nice way to
rest for the last few days of our vacation.
Here is one of many
views from the chalet. The snow-covered mountains climb up on all sides. We
can sit outside and listen to cow bells across the valley. A small village sits
below. The stars glow like diamonds at night. Retirement, anyone?
Spending a few days
in the great outdoors, the kids can't help but investigate everything along the way to the
village. The rock wall in the background is similar to the ones that form farm
terraces on steep mountainsides here.
We passed some of
the time assembling 3D puzzles of some buildings we have seen on this trip. Clue:
the Leaning Tower of Pisa is the toughest of the four seen here. (This picture also
gave us a chance to try out the camera "time delay" shutter!)
The chalet is has
many more amenities than what we're used to in the rustic cabins at HP's Estes Park
facility. Along with a sauna, there is a very large game room. Here is Sara
practicing her backhand.
