The real focus of this picture is in the plastic bag - a
small Gecko was captured by this band, displayed for this photo, then
promptly "lost" in our apartment. They say it is good luck
to have a Gecko in your living quarters. We'll see. |

This is Wailua Beach, just across the street from Coco Palms
where Elvis filmed the Blue Hawaii wedding scene. Beyond
splashing in the waves, the kids were excited to find a dead blowfish on
shore. We have spared you the photo. |

Michael, a great lover of crabs legs, has captured a very
small morsel crawling on the sands of Anahola Bay. We let him go
after transporting the creature via a plastic cup to the Na Pali
Coast. (FYI - that last sentence refers to the small crab!). |
|
At Haena Beach, where the Na Pali Coast begins, a beautiful
rainbow formed in the sky above Robynne and Sara in this picture, but it
doesn't show up very well. Haena State Park was chosen as the
background setting for "Bali Hai" in the movie South Pacific. |
|
Near Haena Beach is Maniniholo Dry Cave, the remains of a
lava tube. Ancient legend claims that this cave was dug in search of
evil spirits who stole the people's fish. We walked to the back
(about 200 feet) to take this picture. |

Beyond the difficulty of choosing which of the many flowers
they would wear, these cousins also had to do much research with local
natives to ensure the flowers were placed behind the correct ear
(designating their "availability"). |
