The pool area at our resort. If we're not careful, we
could spend all day right here and never see the ocean. Look close -
that's our kids playing pool-vollyball. |
|
Just another resort picture - this is the large pond where
the Koi fish are kept. |

We went out on a scuba boat today. Robynne and Jeremy
went snorkeling, while Dad, Sara, and Michael finished the last two dives
required for scuba certification. Of course, we saw turtles and a
seal on the surface, fish underwater, and several eels and other creatures
at the bottom. The sea floor here was full of old lava tube
formations, allowing us to scuba through their cave-like structures. |
|
At the Luau - we had a difficult time keeping these guests
in their seats at the table, because they kept checking out the food and
desert items. |

All the "kids" were put on stage and taught the
hula: "Oh, we're going to the hukilau . . ." |

Before he performed the fire dance, this chief did a Samoan
ritual that involved a spear and a leaf. He placed the leaf on the
floor in front of Robynne - picking it up signals that she is a friend and
keeps him from running his spear through her - as she stood there, frozen,
he yelled "pick it up" - she did, otherwise the show would have
had a very different ending this evening! |
